NORTHERN CAPE - KAROO
Vanderkloof Dam and Richmond hunting areas. These hunting areas are located in the mountainous False Upper Karoo veld type. The area consists of rocky outcrops and open plains covered in typical short Karoo (semi-desert) vegetation. This scenically beautiful area harbors your typical desert and semi-desert animal species. The area receives summer rainfall and is also very hot during this time.
Winters can be very cold in the nights, but pleasant during the day.
The Vanderkloof Lodge where you will be staying is located above the second largest inland lake in South Africa. The Lodge is situated centrally amongst various hunting areas totaling 20 000 hectares.
