Hunting takes place all year round. From October to March daytime temperatures are warm and hot, with a good possibility for rain. From April to September, days are pleasantly warm, but cold at night. The Karoo as well as the Kalahari are especially cold during winter nights.
For daytime wear, cool clothing in neutral shades such as khaki or green. For evenings and early mornings warm clothing is recommended, especially during winter months. Remember comfortable hunting boots (soft-soled type) and hats. Remember to bring along cameras, lenses and other photographic equipment, as well as a good pair of binoculars. Bring along personal items such as sunglasses, special medication, sunblock etc.
No special medical precautions are necessary other than anti-malaria tablets.
However, it is advisable to consult with a doctor for the best precautionary measures in this regard. (KwaZulu-Natal is our only malaria endemic area)
