From 21 to 30 November an old friend of many shared hunting safaris from Germany, Dr Frieder, visited us for a culling hunt in our Karoo area which currently experiences a severe drought and the animals have to be reduced a bit. He currently has great problems with his eyes but learnt to shoot with this disability. Frieder hunted 2 Blue Wildebeest, 2 Red Hartebeest, 9 Springbuck, 1 Kudu, 1 Waterbuck, 1 Eland and 1 Blesbuck. All were old females or non-trophy males.

Also on 28 December we had a group from Croatia. The two hunters took 1 Common Reedbuck, 2 Mountain Reedbuck, 1 Blesbuck, 1 Impala, 1 Bushbuck, 1 Nyala, 1
Kudu and also a Serval and Rusty-spotted Genet during night hunting. The hunting was difficult due to the very green hunting area and also the heat at this time of the year.

And so our season ends again and we are preparing for the annual migration to the northern Hemisphere and the hunting fairs. We will be attending the Jagd & Hund in Dortmund from 31 January – 5 February (Hall 7, stand 7.B22) and the Hohe Jagd & Fischerei in Salzburg from 16 - 19 February (Hall 10 stand 1122).

I wish all of you a wonderful and Blessed Christmas season and the best for 2017.

Best wishes
